Inside the Type 2 Personality
Type Twos seek to be loved. They focus on building strong relationships, adding practical value, advocating for others, being helpful and giving, being heralds of information, sharing their positive feelings for others, and rising to the occasion in times of crisis.

Core desire: Twos want to feel appreciated and valued. They aim to be compassionate, caring, and nurturing—not only because they believe it is the most meaningful way to live—but because they hope their selflessness will be rewarded with love and gratitude from others.
Core fear: Twos fear being unlovable. They fear they’re inherently unworthy of other people’s affection, driving them to go above and beyond as selfless givers so they can earn love and acceptance from others.

Type 2 Research Findings
In a large Blueprint study of over 1,000 respondents, Type Twos were found to make up 11% of the population. We found a gender difference of 5% male and 18% female.
They most frequently reported working in teaching, health care, nonprofits, and human resources, and are one of the most people-centric types.

Type 2 Wings: 2w1 or 2w3
2w1: The Altruist is loving, compassionate, encouraging, devoted, well-intentioned, and serving. They are warm-hearted and charitable Good Samaritans who are other-focused and humble, seeking to leave a helpful mark on their world. They are sweet and thoughtful, using their empathy to smooth interpersonal dynamics and bring people together.
2w3: The Host is radiant, sociable, giving, capable, initiating, and cultivating. They are energetic and joyful relationship-builders who are socially tuned-in and ambitious, impacting their sphere through their connective actions. Hosts are engaging and alluring, lively personalities who radiate a contagious joie de vivre.

Type 2 in Relationships
In a large study of over 1,000 romantic partnerships, we found that Type Twos tend to marry 1s, 4s, and 8s at a higher rate than other types.
They showed a preference for partners who are self-driven, opinionated, and independent.
