Type Sixes seek to be secure. They focus on finding sources of security, easing their anxiety, building support networks, gaining the trust and approval of others, testing others’ attitudes and intentions towards them, analyzing outcomes, and defending their beliefs.

Core desire: Sixes want to feel safe and secure, a desire that applies across all aspects of their lives. With regard to their physical environments, Sixes want to protect their bodies and property from damage and stay vigilant against threats by keeping an eye out for danger.
Core fear: Sixes fear being without support or direction, which can come from both people and from ideologies or systems of thought (like politics or philosophies). Sixes tend to view the world as hazardous and people as suspicious until they’ve grown comfortable enough to trust them.

Type 6 Research Findings
In a large Blueprint study of over 1,000 respondents, Type Sixes were found to make up 11% of the population. We found a slight gender difference of 12% male and 10% female.
They most frequently reported working in education, software, healthcare, and operations, and tend to prefer reliable structures and people to work with.

They are vigilant and conscientious intellectual thinkers who seek connections, information, and control in pursuit of certainty in their lives. They are thoughtful and reserved strategists with a keen eye for analyzing and improving their surroundings.
6w7: The Buddy is loyal, playful, affable, responsible, monitoring, and cautious. They are lighthearted community-builders who seek stability through various activities, frequent analysis, and a strong network of relationships. They are enthusiastic and naturally compassionate, with a dedication to their people and responsibilities.

Type 6 in Relationships
In a large study of over 1,000 romantic partnerships, we found that Type Sixes tend to marry 1s, 3s, and 9s at a higher rate than other types.
They showed a preference for partners who are self-driven, logical, and emotionally steady.

Type 6 Psychological Growth
Sixes at their best are secure in themselves and do not feel the need to be on high alert. They possess the courage to trust themselves and others, standing up for their values and using their foresight to protect their people.
