Type Sevens seek to be happy. They focus on having a variety of positive experiences, analyzing possibilities, learning new skills, escaping anxiety, winning competitions, enjoying themselves, and keeping their options open.

Core desire: Sevens want to be happy. Enthusiastic and curious, Sevens want to experience the good things in life, because doing so flushes them with positive emotions. The world is such an interesting place, full of potential fun, excitement, and learning, and they want to make the most of it.
Core fear: Sevens are afraid of being deprived or trapped in pain. While other types are relatively comfortable braving the highs and lows of life, Sevens prefer to avoid the lows altogether: “Why take on negativity when there are so many positive things to enjoy?”

Type 7 Research Findings
In a large Blueprint study of over 1,000 respondents, Type Ones were found to make up 9% of the population. We found a slight gender difference of 8% male and 9% female.
They most frequently reported working in entrepreneurship, technology, entertainment, and travel, where they're known for their versatility and gregarious positivity.

Many of the Type Sevens we interviewed expressed valuing novelty and exploration, so they often dive head-first into activities.

Many of the Type Sevens we interviewed are secretly very caring and sentimental because they understand how tough it is to experience pain.

7w6: The Entertainer is gregarious, animated, spontaneous, curious, quick-thinking, and uninhibited. They are sociable and mentally agile energizers whose zest for life makes them stimulating conversationalists and adventurers who can’t be slowed down. They have a sweet warmth, lighting up rooms with their optimism, sense of humor, and colorful storytelling.
1w2: The Advocate is exuberant, active, tenacious, thrill-seeking, and multitasking. They are assertive and versatile experimenters whose quick minds, curiosity, and drive lead them to acquire knowledge across a breadth of topics. They often keep a busy, intense lifestyle where they seek stimulating activities and regale others with their bold ideas.

Type 7 in Relationships
In a large study of over 1,000 romantic partnerships, we found that Type Sevens tend to marry 1s, 3s, and 9s at a higher rate than other types.
They showed a preference for partners who are calm, analytical, structured, and goal-oriented.
In dating we discovered that a Seven can be an exceptional match if you’re drawn to someone who seeks out mental stimulation and brings a contagious enthusiasm.

Type 7 Psychological Growth
